UX/UI Design
October 2021 - March 2022
Project Overview
The goal of this project was to modernize Amerisure's external facing website Amerisure.com.
My Contributions
I was the lead UX designer on this project. I was responsible for leading two other UI designers that assisted with the creation of designs, one of which was in training. I also worked to assist with user acceptance testing before launch.
Amerisure's external facing website had not been updated in many years before we were tasked with revamping it. I was hired as a contractor through Amerisure for this reason and converted to FTE after the project was completed.

The marketing team for Amerisure owned the site and the project, they had a few goals for the overhaul of the website when I joined the team:
  • increasing traffic to the site
  • market Amerisure
  • increasing engagement
  • increasing conversions
  • gather information about policyholders to aid marketing
  • overall enhancement UX / UI
There were many reasons to update the website from a UX/UI perspective, including: outdated UI, unclear user paths, confusing navigation, and lengthy and confusing information, to name a few.
History
After just joining the team, my goal was to understand the scope of the project and project goals, first by meeting with the primary stakeholder and understanding the landscape by way of a UX questionnaire. Then working with Amerisure's marketing team and their long time development partner (Pitch Black Media) to establish a high-level timeline.

Collecting as much data as we could through stakeholder feedback, Google Analytics data, competitive analysis and more, we were able to begin realizing what the new Amerisure.com could become. Identifying 4 main personas: 1. Potential Policyholders, Current Policyholders, Potential Agents, and Potential Employees. We also had to marry business goals with user needs, which made it important to understand that Amerisure with over 100 years in the industry, prefers to highlight their relationships and to keep a personal, human touch, integrated throughout their processes.

Competitive Analysis
We began with everything that we learned from research gathered, along with stakeholder input, to create wireframes that combined the customers and Amerisure's needs.

We needed to make sure that our designs were going in the right track. Utilizing UserTesting to share our designs and prototype with a target audience. We found that we were almost dead on in terms of what our target audience was looking for, along with a few updates and recommendations from the user test findings.

As we all know, design is not something that is one and done. UX is always happening, tools and people are always evolving and our product must keep up. Around launch time, we began educating the company on changes that were made to the site. We also began to plan for the future by cataloging backlog items.
